"It is our choices that show who we really are, far more than our abilities."

It’s been two and a half decades since Harry Potter defeated the Dark Lord Voldemort. In the years since that fateful night, many changes have come to the wizarding world. The ministry, once the powerful epicenter of the British wizarding community is losing power slowly. Every day, the newspapers are reporting new conspiracies and rumors about muggle suspicions and political tensions between the England and the other British states not to mention foreign ministries. With all this, it’s no wonder Kingsley Shacklebolt has stepped down from his position as Minister of Magic. Voted unanimously to fill the position was Hermione Granger-Weasley -- the famed political activist and former member of the Golden Trio. During a press conference on her new position, an assassination attempt was made on her life. In the chaos, the culprit could not be caught and the aurors in the Minister’s personal guard were left baffled as to where the attack could have come from. Though mildly injured, the new Minister survived with her life. As it was, her husband (the current leader of the minister’s personal guard) and brother-in-law, Harry Potter, now the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement agreed it would be best if she went into hiding and conducted ministerial business from a secure location. Though Madam Granger-Weasley would have preferred to remain in the spotlight as a show of her support for the government and wizarding community, it was the urging of her husband and children that finally made her agree.
Ron relocated Hermione and trusted members of the minister’s new staff to an undisclosed location while their children were returned to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A team of aurors were instated at the school as a precaution against not only the threats against the Weasley family but also because of the rising tensions between countries. In the two odd decades since Albus Dumbledore’s death, and Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall retirement, Hogwarts has seen almost as much change as the entire wizarding world. They have yet to have a permanent headmaster, and the staff positions keep shifting. The castle itself has fallen almost into disrepair and every year the number of students returning lowers. Now, the very existence of Hogwarts is being threatened, for, on top of it all, the Ministry is threatening to shut the school down and instate a new one in it’s place. In an attempt to save the school, Ginny Potter has stepped up from her position as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor and taken on the Headmistress position. There are quite a few who are skeptical at her ability to run the school at her relatively young age but even more who recognize her part in the last battle against Voldemort.
With the growing political tensions and suspicions against the ministry, nothing is certain.
